COVID-19 UPDATE

We are still shipping worldwide

Guaranteed delivery to all countries via our courier network (Royal Mail and DHL).

This includes even Covid-19 hotspots.

However some delays can be expected due to reduced workforce both in the UK and destination countries as well as our team being reduced to just Ruby on production and me (Chris Jack) on admin for the time being.

For orders in Italy and Spain we are not presently offering our Standard shipping service, instead only the Express service provided by DHL - although the cost of this is still reduced for orders over £100 (and it's carbon neutral too).

We will notify of any further developments and keep customers updated as to the progress of their orders.

We appreciate that jewellery may well be the last thing on some of your minds, however we depend on this business for our livelihood, like many more of you do. If you are still able to treat yourselves or your loved ones then we hugely appreciate the support it gives us. Luckily with our studio being literally across the road from our home and having its own access, we are able to continue making without having to use public transport or endangering others. We also consider ourselves very grateful to have not been affected personally. Whilst this is the case we will do everything we can to keep this little business afloat, so that we can continue making beautiful treasures, and hopefully get back to providing work for others once all of this has (and it will!) retreated. So, for now, please rest assured that we are still hard at work lovingly producing orders...

...and hey, we've still got to look fabulous, right?!

If your item does not fit as shown or described, please contact info@rubyjacklondon.com to discuss a re-sizing or to exchange for another size.

Please note that all jewellery from The Shape Of Sound Collection is created through the process of lost wax casting. Casting holes (small dips and holes) in the jewellery are a natural part of the process and are unique to each piece. Casting holes are to be embraced and are not in any way a fault in the design. Makers marks and tiny polishing scratches are also not faults and are simply part of the hand made process.

Gold plating is ephemeral in nature and will wear over time. We recommend you visit the jewellery care page to learn how to best maintain your gold plated items. To discuss a re-plating service, please contact the studio at info@rubyjacklondon.com shipping and labour will be charged at cost for this service. Alternatively you can contact a local jeweller to enquire about a local re-plating service.

Eco Silver will patina over time but can easily be re-polished at home. To learn how to best care for your silver jewellery, please visit our jewellery care page. To arrange a professional re-polish or to remove any deep scratches,

please either contact a local jeweller or contact the studio at info@rubyjacklondon.com shipping and labour will be charged at cost for this service.

All pieces from the Anima collection are made by hand from brass wire and sterling silver solder. Any small signs of solder are not a fault and simply a part of the hand made process. To keep your Anima pieces looking shiny, please read the care instructions provided or visit our jewellery care page.

Some pieces from the SIA, Good Intentions and Anima Collections are made using Patina. Patina is ephemeral in nature and will wear and change over time. This is simply the nature of patina, but should you wish to arrange to have your pieces re-painted, please contact the studio via info@rubyjacklondon.com shipping and labour will be charged at cost for this service.

Please read the care instructions included with your order to prevent damage and to pro-long the life of your jewellery.

JEWELLERY CARE

THE SHAPE OF SOUND

Eco silver jewellery

Sterling silver is marvellously robust. It can last centuries and be worn every day. To keep your silver jewellery looking it's best, we recommend regularly polishing with a microfibre cloth. Over time silver jewellery will darken as patina naturally occurs. We recommend using a silver dip solution should you desire to lighten the silver back to its original shine. Simply read the full instructions on any dip you purchase - we recommend the brand Town Talk, silver sparkle, silver dip, but there are several good brands on the market. When you receive your silver jewellery it will be beautifully polished with no signs of wear. Naturally over time scratches will occur. Each scratch tells your story and only adds to the feel of the piece over time. Should you wish to arrange a professional re-polish, we recommend contacting a local jeweller to request a re-polishing service and to avoid shipping fees. Alternatively, feel free to get in touch with the studio at info@rubyjacklondon.com to arrange a professional re-polish. There is a small charge + any shipping costs for this service. The charge will depend on the size of the piece. Should we need to remove a pearl or moonstone in order to polish your piece, there may be a small charge to restore the stone or pearl if it is fixed in place (beaded pearls and stones can be removed easily and will not incur a charge). To further preserve the appearance of your silver jewellery it is best to keep your piece away from perfume, body lotions, cleaning products and chlorine.

18k gold plated brass

All gold plated items should be stored in a non humid environment. For those living in hot countries, we recommend storing your jewellery inside a sealed plastic box or bag. Gold plating is ephemeral in nature and will wear over time. To preserve your plated jewellery it is best to keep your piece away from perfume, body lotions, cleaning products and chlorine and to take particular care to remove rings when washing your hands. All pieces should be removed when swimming, exercising or showering. Gold plated pieces are cast in brass which can last for centuries. Should your gold plating wear thin, we encourage you to continue the life of your piece by either contacting a local jeweller to request a re-plating service or to get in touch with the studio at info@rubyjacklondon.com . We can arrange for your items to be re-polished and re-plated. This will incur a small charge for the polish (dependant on the size of the piece) + all shipping costs (incl. Shipping to and from the platers). Gold plating will be charged at cost. Should we need to remove a pearl or moonstone in order to polish + re-plate your piece, there may be a small charge to restore the stone or pearl if it is fixed in place (beaded pearls and stones can be removed easily and will not incur a charge). When you receive your gold plated jewellery it will be beautifully polished with no signs of wear. Naturally over time scratches will occur. Each scratch tells your story and only adds to the feel of the piece over time.

GOOD INTENTIONS

All Good Intentions pieces* are created through the process of last wax casting. They are either cast in brass or cast in brass and then gold plated in 18ct gold.

For pieces cast in brass and not plated, please see the care instructions for Anima Collection below. If your piece has a patina finish (blue, black, green or pink finish), please also read the Patina care instructions in ANIMA.

For pieces plated in18ct gold, please see care instructions for THE SHAPE OF SOUND - Gold plated.

*For customers who bought a limited edition or one of a kind good intentions piece pre - full collection launch NOV 1st 2019, your piece is hand made in brass wire. Therefor, please see care instructions for ANIMA.

SIA COLLECTION

Patinas and Gold tone brass finishes are ephemeral in nature and will change over time. Patinas will wear away gradually and gold tones will deepen as they oxidise. We encourage you to embrace these changes and to enjoy your jewellery as it evolves.

Direct contact with perfumes, lotions, cosmetics and aerosols may accelerate the development of oxidisation on gold tone brass jewellery and wear away any blue or black patinas. Remove all jewellery when showering, swimming and exercising.

In order to prevent staining, it is important to keep all pieces away from water. Humid environments will accelerate the process of oxidisation. Brushed brass is like silk and easily takes on fingerprints. It is best to handle your SIA brushed brass pieces on the edges of the design, instead of on the flats of the design. Should you wish to arrange for a re-brushing or re-painting (patina) service, please contact the studio at info@rubyjacklondon.com there will be a small charge for this service + shipping. Brasso polish works well on brushed brass pieces, as does silver dip. These products can be used along with the polishing cloth provided to remove the build up of oxidisation. We do not recommend polishing blue or black patina styles.

ANIMA COLLECTION

Gold tone brass pieces (no patina)

All ANIMA collection pieces are hand made from brass wire and sterling silver solder. If your piece has patina, please skip to the Patina instructions below. Please store your anima pieces in a dry environment. For customers living in hot countries, a sealed plastic box or bag works perfectly well. Please remove your jewellery when showering, exercising or swimming and keep away from water, perfume, body lotion and chlorine. Over time the brass wire will darken and the silver solder will become more apparent. To restore the bright gold appearence of the piece, simply use the wire wool pouch provided, much in the same way you would use a jewellery cloth. The fine grade wire wool works abrasively to remove any dark staining on the piece. You must not use wire wool on patina. When polishing your piece with the wire wool, take care to not scratch any pearls. Should you wish to buy more wire wool, we recommend 000 grade wire wool. A large roll should cost approximately £3.

Patina pieces

Pieces that include a patina finish (tiger stripes + blue, black, pink, or green finishes) -

Patina is ephemeral in nature and will change and wear over time. We love these changes and embrace them. Should you wish to arrange for your piece to be re-painted, please contact the studio at info@rubyjacklondon.com there will be a small labour fee to be discussed depending on the size and condition of your piece + all shipping costs. Do not polish any parts of the piece that contain patina as this will remove the patina. Please remove your jewellery when showering, exercising or swimming and keep away from water, perfume, body lotion and chlorine.
